🔶 At least 17 people were killed following a suicide bombing in Pakistan

As a result of a suicide bombing in front of a police station in northwest Pakistan, at least 17 people were killed. The incident occurred on Sunday, August 2 (11 Mordad), in the “Kabal” area in the Swat Valley in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

According to Reuters, at the time of the attack, local residents had been holding a gathering in support of the police, but it is still unclear whether that gathering was the primary target of the attack. However, some news agencies, including the Associated Press, have reported that the target was the gathering. In the report, quoting Bilal Faizi, the spokesperson of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Emergency Services Authority, it is stated that the attacker targeted dozens of people who were chanting slogans against militants.

According to Reuters, the Islamist militant group “Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan” has claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement.
