The Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, based in Aden, announced in a statement on Tuesday, 21 Mehr that spying for the Iran-backed Houthis, funding their activities, or providing any assistance to this group is a crime, and punishment for some crimes against the country’s security can be as severe as execution.

The council ordered security and military institutions that, in cases where there is serious evidence, they should immediately begin legal actions and asked the public and military prosecutor’s office to refer the cases of individuals against whom sufficient evidence exists to the judicial authorities.

The statement also emphasizes that state, military, and security officials will not be immune from prosecution if they cooperate with the Houthis.

It further called on citizens and government employees to report information related to these crimes, and the responsible institutions are required to protect the information of reporters and witnesses and keep it confidential.
