Nearly 30 years after Tupac Shakur’s death, unanswered questions about the deadly shooting that led to his killing continue to draw widespread public attention. The murder case of this legendary rapper has returned to the top of the news once again, at the same time as the start of the trial of the only person who has so far been charged in connection with his death.

Duane Davis, the former leader of a street gang who is now 63, faces charges of murder with a deadly weapon and has pleaded not guilty. He is not accused of having personally killed Tupac; rather, prosecutors say he provided the gun that was used in the shooting from inside a car toward the rapper.
