CNN wrote on Tuesday, 20 Mordad, in a report that the appointment of six hardliners by Mojtaba Khamenei to senior positions in the Islamic Republic’s security establishment indicates the government’s shift toward a more aggressive approach in foreign affairs and a tighter internal security climate.

CNN added that these appointments could be a sign that Mojtaba Khamenei is moving away from his father’s “more cautious approach.”

The report said that the people who are now being promoted within the Islamic Republic’s security structure have spent their professional careers “confronting enemies abroad and suppressing opposition at home.”
