Vance said that the "fear and panic" created by Iran for shipping is the cause of the increase in energy prices.

🔸The U.S. vice president attributed Iran’s actions in creating "fear and panic for international shipping" to the rise in energy prices worldwide, and said the U.S. government is trying to counter these actions so as to prevent fuel prices from rising and to ease pressure on the American people.

🔸J.D. Vance told reporters on Monday, September 30, saying: "Even though Iranians every day create fear and insecurity for ships, we are still seeing significant amounts of oil and gas passing through the Strait of Hormuz."

🔸Brad Cooper, commander of U.S. military forces in the Middle East, reported on Saturday that over the past few months, more than one billion barrels of crude oil from the Persian Gulf states had passed through the Strait of Hormuz, and said that the volume of crude oil, commercial cargo, and liquefied natural gas passing through this waterway in the past two weeks has been higher than in any other period in the past six months.

🔸In remarks to reporters, repeating the position of Donald Trump, the president of the United States, about the need to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, Vance said: "When we took action to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, they responded by creating insecurity and intimidation along the route of international shipping."

🔸Vance emphasized that the United States will work to protect the free flow of trade as much as possible. Referring to a session of the UN General Assembly, he said he is confident that more discussions on this will take place during this week’s session in New York.

🔸Since the U.S. and Israel’s attacks on Iran in Esfand of last year, the passage and traffic of ships in the Strait of Hormuz has been accompanied by disruptions following Iran’s attacks. Both Iran and the United States say they control this strategic waterway.
