France’s foreign ministry spokesperson, by publishing a statement, called the Islamic Republic’s closure of the language training center affiliated with this embassy in Tehran “unacceptable.”

Pascal Confaudreau said: “This new attack against France’s cultural presence in Iran, after the Islamic Republic’s action against two employees of the French embassy, is unjustifiable and unacceptable.”

France’s foreign ministry emphasized that it would summon the Islamic Republic’s ambassador and take reciprocal measures in response to the closure of the above cultural center.

The Islamic Republic’s judicial authorities, on Sunday, 29 Shahrivar, sealed the language training center affiliated with the French embassy, claiming it had been operating unlawfully.

Tasnim News Agency, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, claimed that the center had used the title of language instruction to carry out projects against Iranian–Islamic culture, in violation of national security, and that it was identifying people, building networks, and facilitating the departure of elites from the country.
