US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Washington will likely seize about $1 billion in cryptocurrency assets related to the Islamic Republic by the end of the week.

Bessent said the Trump administration has turned its “maximum pressure” campaign against the Islamic Republic into a “complete isolation” campaign. According to him, this policy, in addition to financial restrictions, also includes maritime, air, and land routes connecting Iran to the outside world.

The US Treasury Secretary said the United Arab Emirates and Oman are cooperating with Washington in implementing this policy, and that the US government is consulting with Pakistan and Turkey to close the land routes for entry into and exit from Iran.

Bessent also said the maritime blockade and US military actions are intended to fully stop Iran’s oil exports, and added that aviation restrictions are being imposed with the aim of preventing travel by officials of the Islamic Republic and people close to the government.

Bessent said the US measures have caused concern among members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
