Reza Abbasi, the member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly from Karaj, said in an interview with a student news agency, referring to the reduction of about 20% in the daily production capacity of natural gas in the country, that the full return of the damaged capacities of South Pars to the production cycle during the war may require 2 to 3 years.
Abbasi said: “The lack of gas is not limited to the residential sector, and it can affect fuel supply for power plants, electricity generation, industrial production, and the agricultural sector.”
The representative from Karaj said: “A significant increase in heating demand in the residential sector in the cold months can place additional pressure on the gas transmission and distribution network and, especially in the end points of the network, increase the risk of pressure drop and even disruption in gas supply.”
