Hope Shaker, a senior researcher at George Mason University and an energy expert, said that the increase in attacks on oil tankers with the increase in oil passing through the Strait of Hormuz is not necessarily contradictory.
He emphasized that continued insecurity and the rise in shipping costs mean that geopolitical risk will continue to affect the energy market, and in the short term it cannot be expected that oil prices will return to the level they were at before the start of the war.
