Mohsen Zanganeh, a member of parliament, said in an interview with the Sahr Network and during a trip to Afghanistan that, based on an initial understanding, around 10 hectares of land in Chabahar Port along the water, and more than 100 hectares in the first phase in the special zone, are set to be allocated to Afghanistan so, as he said, this country can have “a land belonging to itself” in the Chabahar free zone.
He said this proposal was raised by the Minister of Industry and that the Afghan government is expected to invest in these lands for the creation of the necessary infrastructure to facilitate the transit of goods toward the sea. Zanganeh added that the Afghan side is seeking a larger share of the port’s lands, but due to restrictions along the sea, this is facing difficulties and follow-ups in this regard
