Trump, referring to the war in Iran, said: “We might carry out another small burst of patriotic rage.”

The U.S. president did not provide further details about the country’s impending operation against Iran.

Trump’s remarks come as the war in Iran is nearing its eighth month and rising fuel prices have affected the atmosphere of the U.S. midterm election.

On Thursday, Trump also accused Iran on his social media platform, “Truth Social,” of fabricating reports about attacks on oil tankers and the presence of sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz in order to raise the price of oil.

On Thursday, 22 October, The New York Times reported, citing U.S. officials and people familiar with the matter, that the U.S. and Israeli militaries have prepared plans to begin another round of attacks on Iran after the U.S. midterm elections.

According to this report, the likely short-term but intense attacks would most likely target Iran’s energy infrastructure, nuclear facilities, and weapons.

Sources told The New York Times that the United States and Israel moved earlier in October up to the verge of issuing orders for new attacks, but Trump apparently backed away from the decision at the last moment.

In an interview with the network “Newsmax,” Trump confirmed that Washington, if it resumes military operations, is considering an attack on a nuclear facility known as “Koh-e-Keleng.”
