🔸Trump, the President of the United States, warned in an interview with Fox News early on Wednesday, Iran time, that if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened “soon,” Iran will be targeted with a serious attack.
🔸During his trip to California, in an interview with Fox News and in response to the question of what would happen if Iran backs out of a new agreement again, he said: “If they back off again, they will take a very, very hard hit.”
🔸Trump also expressed satisfaction with the talks process for reopening the Strait of Hormuz and said: “We have very good discussions with Iran. They don’t like to accept it, but you know, it’s a little confusing. You tell the people you have these great discussions, but then somebody from Iran comes out and says: ‘We didn’t meet at all. This is a lie.’”.
🔸He added: “They want to reach an agreement.”
Hours earlier, the website Axios, citing regional and American sources, reported on the possibility that a 60-day agreement between Iran and Oman for reopening the Strait of Hormuz could be finalized, and wrote that Washington hopes to announce this agreement on Wednesday.
