The Jerusalem Post reported on Thursday, 30 Mehr, citing an Israeli defense official that the army’s intelligence unit, with U.S. mediation, is providing special information to Saudi Arabia to help the country’s military operations against the Iran-backed Houthis.
The Israeli defense official said: “This cooperation is carried out in accordance with Israel’s national interests and the directives of this country’s political officials.”
The Jerusalem Post report, citing this source, says that Saudi Arabia is carrying out extensive attacks against targets in areas under Houthi control in order to weaken their military capabilities and infrastructure.
The Israeli defense official added that “this situation is well aligned with Israel’s interests,” because it is “wearing down one of Israel’s enemies” that “is planning to harm us in the future.”
The official also said: “Pressure on Saudi Arabia is changing alliances and regional relations, and there is the possibility that other countries may intervene in support of Riyadh.”
