🔶 The U.S. has sanctioned Russian companies linked to supplying weapons to the Islamic Republic
According to Kyiv Independent, on September 29 (Mehr 7), the United States imposed sanctions on several individuals and entities, including two Russian companies, which, according to the U.S. Treasury Department and the U.S. State Department, were linked to supplying weapons to the Islamic Republic.
The sanctions target 13 individuals and entities in Russia, Hong Kong, China, and Pakistan. Washington announced the move as part of economic pressure on the Iranian government, in what it calls “economic expulsion operations,” amid the ongoing multi-month war with Iran.
According to a Reuters report, among the Russian entities sanctioned is MG-Flot LLC, whose vessels transport weapons for the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The Russian aerospace company JSC Experimental Design Bureau Named After A.S. Yakovlev is also listed among the sanctioned parties. Media had previously reported that, in the war between Russia and the United States involving Iran, Russia provided Tehran with drone parts and munitions and also helped the Islamic Republic target U.S. bases.
