🔸The managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company warned that in the current winter, 11 out of 30 provinces in the country will face “gas tension.”

🔸Saeed Toukli, in an interview with the official Islamic Republic News Agency, IRNA, also reported that only in the past five days, gas consumption in the country, concurrent with the colder weather, saw “an increase of about 70 million cubic meters, equivalent to 30%.”

🔸Toukli further predicted a greater increase: “Considering weather forecasts and suitable rainfall in the western and northwest regions of the country, it is expected that with a drop in air temperature, the use of heating systems and, as a result, gas consumption will increase.”

🔸He said: “At the peak of consumption, for each 1-degree drop in air temperature, about 25 million cubic meters—equivalent to one Phase of the South Pars field—will be added to the country’s gas consumption.”

🔸This increase in gas consumption in the country will occur while, according to the managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company, part of the country’s gas production infrastructure was damaged amid the war in the previous March.
