🔸The spokesperson for the government of the Islamic Republic says that due to damage to energy infrastructure during the course of the war, there may be a “problem” in the winter in the northern provinces.

🔸Fatemeh Mohajerani, on Tuesday, the 7th of Mehr, at her weekly press conference, said: “Because of attacks on the energy sector, we have been damaged… 230 million cubic meters have been lost as a result of the attacks, and we are trying to restore 100 million cubic meters.”

🔸She said: “The government is trying not to face a gas shortage, but there may be a problem in the northern provinces. However, the measures have been taken and the governors have been warned.”

🔸Mohajerani did not provide further details about these measures.

🔸The government spokesperson had previously said that this figure of 230 million cubic meters is “equivalent to about one-third of the production capacity of the South Pars field, which supplies more than 70% of the country’s gas.”

🔸Mehdi Mohayee, deputy for coordination of the state administration’s affairs for construction in Golestan Province, has also recently said that the three provinces of Golestan, Mazandaran, and North Khorasan will face gas cutoffs for between 60 and 90 days in autumn and winter.
