Donald Trump, the President of the United States, in response to a question about how Washington would deal with officials of the Islamic Republic whom he described as “mad” and “irrational,” said that the United States should decide between military action and reaching an agreement.

Trump said: “Maybe we bomb them. We have to decide whether we are going to bomb them or reach a deal with them.”

He added: “In any case, and in whatever way it goes, this story will end very soon.”

In another part of his remarks about the situation of the Islamic Republic after the war, Trump said: “In Iran, their army has been destroyed, their navy has been destroyed, their air force has been destroyed, and their air defenses have been destroyed. Everything has been destroyed. Their leaders have been destroyed.”

He also said that the inflation rate in Iran has reached 301 percent and the value of Iran’s currency has been destroyed.

By comparing the casualties of American forces in the war in Iran and the war in Iraq, Trump said that in the war in Iran, the United States lost 18 people and in Iraq it lost 4,500, and that the outcome of the Iraq war is “not even close” to the result that, according to him, America achieved in the war in Iran.
