Pakistan’s fighter jets carried out targeted airstrikes early on Thursday in Afghanistan’s Kunar and Helmand provinces.

Pakistan’s Ministry of Information said the purpose of these attacks was to destroy two hideouts that, according to the ministry, were housing terrorist forces. Pakistan reported that in these strikes, 22 people were killed and large quantities of weapons and ammunition were destroyed.

Sources from the Taliban, while confirming the attacks, have also claimed that civilians were killed in them.
