🔸A flight by “Fly Dubai” airlines that was traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv, on Wednesday morning, 8 Mehr, changed course and landed at Tabuk airport in Saudi Arabia.
🔸Israeli media initially reported the possibility that the plane had been hijacked, but later reported that “an outbreak of physical confrontation between the pilots” aboard the aircraft caused it to change course and make an emergency landing.
🔸According to these reports, the plane, a Boeing 737 MAX, sent an emergency code related to hijacking and after that its connection with Israel had been cut.
🔸Following the incident, Israeli fighter jets were scrambled and Ben Gurion Airport operations were suspended. Some passengers on the flight were reportedly Israeli citizens.
🔸Reuters, citing three Israeli security officials, reported that Benjamin Netanyahu formed an extraordinary security meeting in response to the incident.
🔸However, the spokesperson for the office of Israel’s prime minister later said that the incident had no connection to a hijacking.
🔸The news, released in its first moments and met with a great deal of ambiguity, was widely reflected across the world’s media outlets and social media networks.
