Six years ago, on August 4, 2020, the Beirut Port explosion, the largest non-nuclear blast in modern history, devastated Lebanon’s capital.

Thousands of tons of ammonium nitrate that had not been properly stored at Warehouse 12 caught fire and released a devastating blast wave that, within seconds, transformed the face of Beirut.

The explosion killed at least 218 people, injured more than 7,000, displaced about 300,000 residents, and caused damage estimated at $15 billion.

Six years later, the demand for justice still remains unanswered, and to date, no one has been held responsible for this tragedy.
