Russia wants better ties with Europe

After telephone discussions with Finnish and Norwegian leaders, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia welcomes all efforts to rebuild ties with European nations.

While emphasizing that Moscow does not seek a war with Europe, Putin noted that Russia remains prepared for such a scenario, cautioning that an extreme escalation of conflict would result in no victors.

"As I have always said, we support any steps aimed at restoring full-fledged and proper relations with European countries – either with all of them in the form of the EU or on a bilateral basis. Please, however they want it."
