A military coalition led by Saudi Arabia announced that it intercepted and destroyed a drone launched by the Houthi forces backed by the Islamic Republic in the area of Mecca.
Reuters reported that the coalition on Friday, 8 Aban, announced the destruction of the drone in a statement. The incident is the latest case of cross-border attacks attributed to the Houthis against Saudi Arabia. In recent weeks, the Houites have used drones and missiles to target the country’s military installations, airports, and energy infrastructure.
The Houites have not yet reacted to the incident. The group has previously repeatedly denied accusations of attacks on Mecca and Medina, the two holy cities of Muslims.
