Reuters reported that shipping data shows that a total of 12 cargo ships transited the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday and Sunday, while the figure was 35 ships in the previous weekend.

Accordingly, the number of ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz has fallen by about 66% compared with the weekend before.

The decline comes as tensions continue in the Persian Gulf, and the United States and the Islamic Republic remain at an impasse.
