Peygah Malekmohammadi, a member of the 13th city council of Paris, on the sidelines of the gathering of Iranians in Paris on the fourth anniversary of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement, told Iran International’s journalist Sājede Sharifi that the movement managed to go beyond Iran’s borders and draw global attention to what is happening in Iran. She added that “Woman, Life, Freedom” therefore has a special place among Iran’s protest movements.

Malekmohammadi also said that the people of Iran are fighting for freedom, women’s rights, human rights, and secularism, and that this struggle has a global dimension. She added that, in her view, the formation of a stable, democratic, and secular Iran will also help make the world safer.
