Reuters reported that Haibat al-Halbousi, the Speaker of Iraq’s parliament, on Wednesday, 28 Mordad, in a meeting with Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf, the Speaker of Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly, in Baghdad, called for granting a special status to Iraq’s oil exports via the Strait of Hormuz.

The office of the Speaker of Iraq’s parliament raised this request by issuing a statement, but did not provide further details about what the special status would entail or the outcome of the discussions between the two sides.
