At the same time as the U.S. midterm election and Israel’s parliamentary election are approaching, speculation about the likelihood and timing of a renewed attack on the Islamic Republic has increased.

Israeli officials say there is no necessity to launch an attack before the elections, but heightened tensions could change these calculations.
