🔸The PS752 Flight Victims’ Families Association, in a statement, welcomed Amnesty International’s new report on the need for criminal investigations into the role of national and local officials of the Islamic Republic in “crimes against humanity” during the crackdowns of 1401.

🔸In a statement from the association, published on Friday, 27 Shahrivar, it said that although Amnesty International’s report does not specifically address the PS752 flight case, for the families of the victims of this flight, the report’s documentation is part of a broader chain of crimes against humanity.

🔸In explaining this chain, the statement wrote: “A chain that emerged in the suppression of protests and popular movements, including in Aban 1398, ‘Woman, Life, Freedom,’ and the protests of Dey 1404, as well as in the downing of the PS752 flight.”

🔸The statement emphasized that “the common feature of these cases is the need to go beyond the direct perpetrators and to examine the role of structures and officials who played a part in the design, issuance of orders, decision-making, implementation, or concealment of these actions.”

🔸The families of the Ukrainian flight say: “Uncovering the truth about this chain and holding those responsible accountable is an essential condition for putting an end to the cycle of impunity and ensuring justice for the victims.”

🔸Amnesty International, in a thousand-page report about the suppression of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” protests, has identified and documented 87 officials of the Islamic Republic—from the highest levels of government to local commanders—in the command chain of the crackdown and called for criminal investigations into their role in “crimes against humanity.”

🔸Amnesty International stresses: “The cost of the continuation of impunity has been devastating. The time to establish an international criminal justice mechanism for Iran, before another massacre occurs in the protests, has long since come.”

🔸This human-rights organization, in a statement published on Wednesday, 25 Shahrivar, emphasized that “the architects of crimes against humanity” during the suppression of these protests must be brought to justice at the international level to prevent further killings.”
