🔸French President announced his plan to host an emergency G7 summit, focusing on the energy crisis.
🔸Emmanuel Macron said on Friday, 27 Shahrivar, after announcing this: «In the coming weeks, we will host the G7 meeting, dedicated to energy, so that, while strengthening cooperation, we can prevent the emergence of unnecessary tensions among the G7 member countries and our key partners.»
🔸The French president added that the meeting could also be a good opportunity «to review the options available regarding the possibility of releasing strategic fuel reserves.»
🔸With the continuation of the war between the United States and Iran, and the Strait of Hormuz remaining tightly blocked, and with Saudi Arabia halting exports from Yanbu as a result of attacks by Yemen’s Houthis, the price of crude oil has seen a 20 percent jump in the current month.
🔸With seven months left until France’s presidential election, the government of this country is concerned that an increase in fuel prices and, as a result, other cost-of-living expenses will lead to a rise in dissatisfaction and social unrest.
