🔻Parliament’s public sessions will be held from next week «with a new mechanism»
The spokesperson of the presidium of the Parliament of Iran says that from next week, the public sessions of parliament will be held «with a new mechanism».
Abbas Goudarzi said that in a meeting of the presidium, «based on the Shama plan’s decision», it was decided that starting next week, the mechanism for holding sessions of the Islamic Consultative Assembly in the assembly hall would change:
«In the new model, sessions will be held in the permanent location of the assembly hall, and, in addition, video-conference sessions will also be held.»
Following attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran in Esfand last year, the holding of Iran’s parliamentary sessions at the building and hall of parliament was suspended for security reasons.
In July this year, the Guardian Council, by approving a parliamentary bill, enabled virtual sessions of the Islamic Consultative Assembly «in emergency conditions».
Based on this bill, in emergency conditions or in special situations of the country, if, in the determination of the presidium, the presence of representatives and the holding of sessions in the permanent location of parliament is not possible, the assembly-hall sessions can be held in another location outside Baharestan or online.
