Kambiz Tavana, a member of the editorial board of Iran International, referring to his conversation with Max Miesliz, a researcher at the Center for Economic and Financial Power at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, said that if the cryptocurrency market remains open, it could act like “a back door” to bypass U.S. financial sanctions.
He added that, based on Miesliz’s assessment, the Islamic Republic may conduct its transactions in areas that U.S. institutions are not initially aware of, but there is a continuous process for monitoring these activities and blocking the identified routes.
