🔸Three oil tankers were targeted while passing through the Strait of Hormuz

The shipping information company “Mariskes” announced that on Tuesday, September 29 (Mehr 7), three tankers flying the flag of Liberia were targeted in the Strait of Hormuz by “unknown projectiles.”

According to a report the company published on Wednesday, September 30, all three vessels had switched off their automatic identification system while transiting the Strait of Hormuz; a move, according to Mariskes, was intended to prevent their identification.

One of these ships, the “Alrweis” tanker, carried out a ship-to-ship transfer operation near the Omani port of Sohar in late September and discharged its diesel cargo.

The large tanker “Mercin Prosperity” also transferred about two million barrels of Iraqi Basra crude oil near Sohar to another vessel in mid-September.

The third tanker, “Sinbad,” had loaded oil products at the industrial port of Al-Jubail in Saudi Arabia in early September.

The company “ADNOC Logistics and Services,” which manages the two tankers Alrweis and Mercin Prosperity, declined to comment on the report.
