🔶 North Korea fires a ballistic missile again
According to South Korea and Japan, North Korea early Saturday, October 3 (11 Mehr), launched a ballistic missile toward the sea from its eastern coast.
South Korea’s military said the missile was launched at around 6:30 from the Wonsan area. Japan’s coast guard, while warning ships in the area, said the missile was likely a ballistic missile that appears to have fallen.
After the missile launch, South Korea’s presidential office convened an emergency meeting of the National Security Council. South Korea’s military said, in response to the possibility of further missile tests, it has stepped up its monitoring and will share security information with the United States and Japan.
Before the missile was launched, Kim Yo Jong, the influential sister of Kim Jong-un, the leader of North Korea, had rejected a request from Seoul for an apology from Pyongyang over the deployment of a number of landmines in a statement.
