Naserin Shakeri, Nika Shakeri’s mother, said to Ahmad Samadi, a journalist at Iran International, about holding a memorial ceremony for Nika in Germany: “Today is both Nika’s birthday and the day of her burial. This is a sign; though our children were killed in this struggle and laid to rest in the ground, their souls have awakened in the greater spirit of other fellow countrymen and women. The path of these children continues, and we should not lose hope.”
