🔶 Iraqi: Iran’s response to the United States’ views will be provided within the next few days
Abbas Iraqi, Iran’s foreign minister, said on Thursday, 16 Mehr, that the process of negotiations with the United States is still ongoing and that Tehran will respond within the next few days to Washington’s views regarding Iran’s seven-day plan. He added: “The negotiation process is still continuing, and messages are being exchanged through intermediaries.”
Iraqi said Iran is currently reviewing the positions of the American side.
He added: “We presented our plan, which was put forward as the seven-day plan, and we heard the Americans’ views in response to it; now we are busy reviewing them; I think we will give an answer within the next few days.”
The day before, JD Vance, the deputy U.S. vice president, referring to the fact that Washington still does not have a clear picture of how decision-making in Tehran works during the negotiations, said: “The United States is negotiating with Masoud Pezeshkian and Abbas Iraqi, but it’s not clear to what extent these individuals have authority within Iran’s power structure.”
