Media affiliated with the Islamic Republic said that a large portion of the fire in the northern part of the Hoor al-Azim wetland has been brought under control. This fire has been ongoing since noon of the previous day, 6 Mordad.

The director general of the Khuzestan Department of the Environment previously said, “This fire was likely caused by a human factor, but the lack of water in this part of the wetland has also intensified the blaze.”
