Manshe Amir, an expert on Middle East affairs, said that Gadi Eisenkot, despite efforts to form an alliance, is facing serious obstacles due to disagreements among the parties opposed to Netanyahu and because he has won fewer seats than expected. According to him, Benjamin Netanyahu may use his experience in alliance-building to persuade Naftali Bennett or Lieberman to cooperate with the Likud Party.
Amir added that Eisenkot’s alliance with Arab parties would also be difficult due to differences in political positions. He predicted that if negotiations to form a government fail and elections are held again, there is a possibility that Netanyahu’s position will strengthen.
