Ali Sadrzadeh, a Middle East issues analyst, said that if talks between the Islamic Republic and the United States fail and a new war begins, Israel’s political equations will change. According to him, such a war could push aside disputes among parties over forming a government and create the conditions for the formation of a national coalition involving Benjamin Netanyahu and Gadi Eisenkot.
Sadrzadeh added that Netanyahu and Eisenkot do not have fundamental differences in their policy toward confronting the Islamic Republic and Hezbollah, and that their differences are more related to internal Israeli issues and the way policies are implemented. He emphasized that the fate of talks between Tehran and Washington could play a role in determining the composition of Israel’s future government more than election calculations of the parties.
