Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh “brutal, cowardly, and heinous.”
In a statement from the ministry, published by Kuwait’s official news agency, the attack is described as a “clear violation of international law and international humanitarian law.”
Kuwait said the repetition of these hostile acts, which target civilian facilities and critical infrastructure, constitutes a “dangerous escalation of tensions.”
The statement says the attack left “a number of victims among innocent civilians, including passengers and airport staff.”
The ministry announced Kuwait’s “full solidarity” with Saudi Arabia. The statement said Kuwait supports all measures taken by Riyadh to preserve security and to protect its citizens and residents.
Saudi Arabia’s aviation authority said that at least 12 people were killed in the attack on Saturday.
