The UN Secretary-General says he is “deeply shocked” by the “deadly” attack by the Houthis on the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on Saturday.

Antonio Guterres, in a post on the X social network, while referring to the deaths of 12 people and hundreds injured, stressed that he strongly condemns the attack.

He said that attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure violate international law and must be stopped immediately.

Saudi Arabia’s Civil Aviation Authority says that in the Houthi attack on the Riyadh airport, 12 people were killed, including eight foreign nationals, and 309 people were injured.

Earlier, the U.S. president called the Houthi attack on Riyadh’s King Khalid airport “horrific” and is considering joining the war against the Houthis.

Also, the U.S. Secretary of State strongly condemned the recent attacks by Houthi rebels supported by the Islamic Republic of Iran on Saudi Arabia, including the Saturday attack on the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
