Ismail Farji, deputy operations chief of the Basij Organization, told the Defense Press news agency: “We have extensive plans to organize volunteers for the Jān-fodā system within the combat organization, the urban and rural resistance cells, and other structures.”

He added: “Our goal is to train, ready, and deploy the Jān-fodā volunteers in defending the land of Iran, so that stable and permanent security is established in the country.”

The Basij operations deputy added: “Many people whose hearts were with the system and the revolution, but who had not registered in the Basij, announced their readiness during these days, and as a result, the Basij combat organization expanded several times over.”
