Jamshed Barzegar, a journalist and political analyst, said that with increased coordination between the United States and Israel, the likelihood of a military action aimed at changing the government in Iran has become more serious, and Washington’s willingness for a diplomatic solution has decreased.
Barzegar added that the Islamic Republic, contrary to its expectations, has failed to use the Strait of Hormuz and regional threats as an effective pressure lever, and now it itself is being harmed more than others by limitations on oil exports. According to him, government officials are worried about the consequences of a new war and, for that reason, they have continued to resort to rhetorical threats and buying time; a strategy that this time will not work in favor of the Islamic Republic.
