🔶 Iraqi militia: 5 Iranian advisers killed in attacks by the United States and Saudi Arabia
Two sources from the Popular Mobilization Forces, an ally of Iran in Iraq, told AFP on Wednesday, the seventh of Mordad, that in joint attacks by the United States and Saudi Arabia on these forces in different provinces of Iraq, five Iranian advisers were also killed.
AFP writes that its reporters in Baghdad observed that, at a funeral ceremony held by the Popular Mobilization Forces for those killed in these attacks, coffins were seen covered with the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to the two sources that provided this information to AFP, the aforementioned Iranian citizens were killed in an attack carried out on Diyala Province in central Iraq.
Based on this report, sources from the Popular Mobilization Forces militia group confirmed the identity and advisory role of these five Iranians, but no further details were released about their names, ranks, or missions.
Meanwhile, the semi-official Iranian news agency Mehr, in a report, wrote that in the attacks last night by the United States and Saudi Arabia in Iraq, at least four members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed.
