🔸 Iraq’s president discusses developments with Saudi Arabia’s intelligence chief regarding regional security shifts

The Prime Minister’s Office of Iraq said that Ali al-Zaydi, Iraq’s prime minister, met on Friday with Khaled Al-Hamidan, the head of Saudi Arabia’s intelligence agency, to discuss coordination regarding regional security developments.

According to Reuters, the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office, citing al-Zaydi, said that the country will not allow its soil to be used to carry out actions or activities against any other country. In the statement, Iraq again emphasized its commitment to protecting its sovereignty and preventing the escalation of tensions in the region.

The meeting took place a day after a senior Saudi official said that “the Saudi government expects coordinated and imminent attacks by Iraqi militias from the north and Yemen’s Houthis from the south, under the supervision of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.”
