Masoud Pezeshkian, the president of Iran, asked the United States to change its tone and approach toward Tehran and warned that “relying on bullying and thuggery will only make implementation processes more complex.”

Mr. Pezeshkian made these remarks on Monday evening during a meeting in Tehran with General Asim Munir, the commander of Pakistan’s army.

According to IRNA, he said Washington should adhere to its commitments to the Islamic Republic of Iran “on the basis of rightful rights and international standards” and to the legal obligations of the Islamabad understandings.

He thanked Pakistan for its “constructive” mediation and expressed hope that the continuation of cooperation would help achieve the goals of the Islamabad understandings—an understandings that was reached between Iran and the United States in June with Pakistan’s mediation.

On Monday, Mohammad-Bagher Qalibaf, the speaker of Iran’s parliament, and Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, each asked the United States, in separate meetings with General Asim Munir, to remain committed to the understandings. 📷IRNA
