🔸Iranian media reported on Monday, 12 Mordad, that the foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan held a telephone conversation regarding “important regional and international developments,” and Abbas Araqchi was invited to “an immediate trip” to Islamabad.

🔸According to this report, during the call the two countries’ foreign ministers, while reviewing the latest developments in the region and the ongoing process of diplomatic developments, emphasized the continuation of cooperation and close consultations with the aim of ensuring permanent peace and stability in the region.

🔸The report adds that Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s foreign minister, formally invited Seyyed Abbas Araqchi to travel to Islamabad at the earliest possible opportunity.

🔸Iran’s foreign minister is currently in Iraq. It is not yet clear what the reason for this invitation is.

🔸Donald Trump, the U.S. president, who had previously said that he had “canceled” the “major attack” on Iran in order to give diplomacy another chance, had told reporters that talks between Tehran and Washington to reach an agreement are expected to begin on Monday.

🔸Tehran denied that talks would take place on Monday.
