🔻Mohammad Atabak, Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, says that, by order of the president, the import of luxury cars— including for Iranians living abroad— has been halted, and the government’s focus will be on providing economical cars.
He also said in a meeting of the Article 90 Commission of the Parliament that the bill on importing used cars, whose approvals had existed since previous years, has been put into implementation in the Fourteenth Government.
According to Mr. Atabak, fewer than one thousand used cars have currently been imported into the country and are in customs.
He expressed hope that the entry of these cars into the market will help with “relative adjustment” of prices.
