🔶 Iran rejects Colombia’s allegations against the IRGC
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic issued a statement rejecting the allegations made by the Colombian government against the Islamic Republic and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), accusing Colombia of “deflecting” concerning terrorism and drug trafficking.
In its statement, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Tehran fully rejects the “baseless claims” of the Colombian government against the Islamic Republic.
The ministry also strongly condemned “accusing a part of Iran’s official armed forces.”
Colombia has recently severed its relations with Iran and, within this framework, had raised allegations against Iran and the IRGC.
In continuation of its statement, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs accused the Colombian government of having links to drug-trafficking networks.
The statement said the Colombian government is “strongly under the influence of drug production and distribution cartels,” and from Tehran’s perspective, it is not in a position to “lecture” others about terrorism and drugs.
Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described Colombia’s remarks as “hypocritical deflection.”
