🔻Iran: Attacks on Iraq are aimed at expanding the war in the region
Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, condemned the United States and Saudi Arabia’s attacks inside Iraq “in the strongest terms,” and said that the move is meant to expand the war in the Middle East.
In the statement, Iran described the attacks by the two countries on Iraq as “aggressive” and “a flagrant violation” of the United Nations Charter.
Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that these attacks are “in line with the ambitions of the United States and the Zionist regime to expand the scope of war and conflict in the West Asia region.”
In the attacks last night by the United States and Saudi Arabia on Iraq, positions of Iran-backed military groups were targeted.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) had said that American and Saudi forces, “in a joint operation,” carried out precise attacks against Iran-aligned terrorist groups in Iraq.
According to CENTCOM, these groups had attacked American forces and Saudi energy infrastructure under the guidance of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
