🔻Venezuela’s Foreign Ministry summoned Iran’s ambassador
Venezuela’s Foreign Ministry, in a statement, announced that on Tuesday it summoned Iran’s ambassador to deliver its protest regarding statements it described as “insulting and inappropriate.”
It is not yet clear what exactly Venezuela’s protest refers to, but Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s foreign minister, recently said in an interview: “Iran is not Venezuela.” It is possible that the summoning of the ambassador of the Islamic Republic is connected to this.
In the past December, American forces carried out an unprecedented operation in which they kidnapped Nicolás Maduro, Venezuela’s president, and transferred him to New York.
