✅ Fact: The Strait of Hormuz is an international waterway. The IRGC has no authority to set the route for the free and open passage of ships. Commercial ships continue to transit the strait with U.S. military support. Since early May, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces have helped vessels pass through this narrow waterway—about 1,000 ships and 500 million barrels of crude oil.
